The Great Dixter Charitable Trust is raising funds towards its Student Training Fund.  Dixter is renowned for the teaching of its distinct vision, which has been handed on from Christo to Fergus and from Fergus to the gardeners who come to learn at Dixter.

Some Very Fine Wines  Christopher Lloyd’s godson Michael Schuster is acknowledged internationally as an expert wine taster, wine writer and wine teacher with over 30 years experience. Michael has generously selected and donated some exceptional wines for us to auction for the Student Fund.

Overnight stay at Great Dixter for up to 4 people. Those who know Great Dixter understand the quirky charm of an old great house, but few have the opportunity to experience being a guest at this extraordinary house and garden.

This the the chance to enjoy the experience of staying in the Lutyens side of the House, having a delicious evening meal prepared for you and your guest(s) and relaxing in front of the fire in the Yeoman’s Hall. There is also the added treat of wandering the gardens at daybreak and evening, breakfast in the dining room in the private side of the house, and a House tour.  Two bedrooms to be reserved in the House.

A handmade Dixter bench. Great Dixter maintains its ancient woodlands, and part of that management entails regular coppicing of timber. Our Estate team work in the Great Barn in all weathers making products to sell. This sweet chestnut bench is one of the largest benches to come from the barn, so a rare opportunity to bid for this substantial seat. (Purchaser to collect or arrange shipping)

When bidding on an auction item, if you enter more than the minimum increment for an item then your bid will be used for proxy bidding. This is how it works:
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new maximum bid if you wish.
For example:
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
