GMFC 150th Whisky in partnership with Ardgowan Distillery
Greenock Morton FC have partnered with Ardgowan Distillery
to celebrate the club’s 150th anniversary with a unique and special
dram.
Delivered by renowned Master Blender, Max McFarlane, The Ton’s
150th Anniversary Blended Malt is one of the best around and combines
a unique set of malts to bring together the perfect dram.
A delicate, floral and lightly tannic nose: stem ginger,
toffee apples, earl grey tea and new leather. This palate is dry with olive
oil, malted wheat cereal and creamy porridge with caramelised brown sugar,
leading into a finish with dry tobacco notes.
Whisky Maker, Max McFarlane, joined Lang Brothers in 1974
and has worked with iconic whisky names including Famous Grouse, Bunnahabhain,
Glengoyne, Tamdhu, and Glenrothes. He was instrumental in the rise of Highland
Park, and his name appeared prominently on their labelling. His exceptional
contribution to Scotch Whisky was recognised in 2017 when he was inducted as a
Keeper of the Quaich.
With 50 years in the trade, Max rose to become the lead
whisky maker at Edrington, and his signature can be found on the label of some
of their finest whiskies.
An Inverkip local, Max joined Ardgowan Distillery to help us
create our flagship series of lowland single malts. His dream is to help us
craft a whisky from start to finish, carefully considering every aspect from
grain to cask to glass to make a maritime whisky like no other.
Bottles 1 to 10 will be auctioned with a signed letter of
authenticity signed by the Master Blender and the club. A true collectors item
and a true part of the Greenock Morton FC story.

When bidding on an auction item, if you enter more than the minimum increment for an item then your bid will be used for proxy bidding. This is how it works:
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another
member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new
maximum bid if you wish.
For example:
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
