Linlithgow's Tree of Light 2025

Linlithgow's Tree of Light is a festive project run by the Benevolent Fund of the Rotary Club of Linlithgow Grange, a recognised Scottish charity no. SC040390, to raise funds for charitable organisations working locally.  The beneficiaries for this year's event are:

  • Linlithgow and District Community Day Care Centre is a registered charity (SC0459713), providing social and personal support to frail, elderly people in the Linlithgow area, including those with dementia. Services include transportation, a nutritious lunch, and activities to support well-being. The centre helps provide respite for carers and acts as a community meeting place. They operate from the Linlithgow Partnership Centre.

  • Positive Pathways Bereavement Support is an informal, confidential and free service facilitated by a team of trained Bereavement Listeners. The group meets fortnightly in Cross House, Linlithgow and they share their thoughts and feelings as together they seek their new normality. There is no magic formula that will take the pain away, but by listening and sharing with others, it is often possible to lessen the sense of isolation, chaos, and despair felt following the death of a loved one.

  • Linlithgow Link was set up in 1979 as the first voluntary group of its kind in West Lothian. It is a registered charity (SC013502) and their aim is to provide support to the elderly, isolated and infirm people throughout Linlithgow, helping them maintain their independence and well-being. The service is delivered by a team of dedicated, trained volunteers who provide transport to medical appointments, offer encouragement, companionship and support to help older people engage in social leisure and community activities. They too operate from the Linlithgow Partnership Centre.
All the money donated goes to the specified good causes thanks to running costs being underwritten by local businesses and our special thanks go to Alan Steel Asset Management, Stewart Electrical Limited, and Mason Homes.
