Simon Hare is a collectable and not a toy so is therefore unsuitable for young children due to small parts and wires.
Handmade by Sarah Dudley, member of The Sussex Guild. Sarah is self-taught and combines her love of nature and the fairy world with her passion for textiles. Sarah undertakes commissions.

Jonathan Chiswell Jones has been working for 20 years with reduced lustre. This technique was first used in the Islamic world 1,000 years ago. Few potters use this way of producing lustre since it requires careful control of so many variables. For this reason, the technique has fascinated Jonathan. He has been a professional potter working in Sussex for 45 years and is a member of The Sussex Guild.

Artist Julian Bell descends from the Bloomsbury Group: his grandmother is Vanessa Bell, his great aunt Virginia Woolf and his father Quentin Bell. Julian is known for his superb handling of light and perspective in his art work. Living in Lewes within the South Downs he paints his surrounding landscape and other subjects that kindle feelings in his heart. Alongside his painting practice he is an author and critic. Julian teaches at the Royal Drawing School and is editor of Ways of Drawing (Thames & Hudson).
This oil painting is of Berwick Church situated between Lewes and Eastbourne. Julian has had a recent association with the church as he has just completed a piece of decorative work for its interior. The Bloomsbury Group’s connection with the church goes back to the Second World War when Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Quentin Bell were invited to decorate the interior of the church. The resulting paintings and decorations are considered to be one of the most important decorative schemes in this country.

Jose Heroys is a fibre artist making life-like bird sculptures using natural yarns.
This cheerful crocheted blackbird is based on one that visits Jose's garden and is made from pure merino yarn. He has needle-felted detailing around his black agate bead eyes and is filled with carded lambswool. He stands on embroidery thread-wrapped wire feet and claws and carries a uniquely numbered metal ring on his leg. He is about half life size.
The inspiration for Jose's work comes from a life-long love of birds, which began in childhood from watching the antics of sparrows in her garden. With each sculpture, Jose tries to convey a sense of the character and energy of the bird, as well as the emotional response we have to it. She makes each one by hand, a process that takes several days for a small bird and a few weeks for the largest owls.

Seven sided wooden bowl handcrafted by retired Marine Engineer, Alan Mercer.
Alan loves to work with any material as long as it's recycled and is keen to experiment with shapes and materials. The main bowl area of this piece is made out of a recycled drawer; the outer white wood of the rim is from a piece of Holly and the base is an offcut of Sycamore. This piece began life as an eight sided bowl, however, Alan's geometry was a little out so it turned out seven sided! Alan loves these 'happy accidents' when crafting.

Paul Lucas is self-taught and from an artistic and equine background; he is a member of the Society of Equestrian artists that promotes excellence in equestrian arts. Paul's paternal grandfather was an artist and maternal grandfather and family were both trainers and jockeys in Lewes. This painting is unusual because it is not Paul's usual style or subject, he has, however, lived in Lewes for 76 years and loves the town - the inspiration behind this scene.

Claire Graves is a secondary school art textiles teacher and love textiles! As part of a lockdown project Claire decided to embroider all the foods she and her family enjoy. For each piece of art sold she donated £5 to the food bank.
Claire ate a few pineapples! She loves pineapples as they are colourful and rather amazingly full of pattern and texture. Claire used a technique which she uses a lot called 'slash and trash' - this is where you layer fabrics and then sew shapes and cut away the layers. Claire used this technique as the main body and then used vintage fabrics to make the top. She then embroidered using gold threads and paint to enhance the piece.
This pineapple is just a fun and quirky piece to brighten up your mood!
Dimensions: 39 x 19cm framed in a yellow frame
RRP: £45

Clare has also donated three other embroidered food pictures for this auction:

Framed Textile Picture - 'Forest Floor' created by Jan Newbury.
This piece is the result of a workshop held at the Brighton Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild who normally meet in Patcham. Jan has used a variety of embroidery stitches, a little fabric collage, and a lot of couching with interesting threads. She has also added tiny scraps of metallic net and a few beads as a finishing touch.
The wooden frame is recycled as Jan likes to work with textiles and has a few frames in her ‘stash’. Jan considers herself a craftsperson rather than an artist and as well as the Embroiders' Guild also belongs to the Weavers’ Guild.
Dimensions: 15cm x 12.5 cm
Collection arrangements: Donator will post or deliver (if winning bidder lives in the Lewes District area). *Arrangements for collection will be made with the winning bidder at auction end.

When bidding on an auction item, if you enter more than the minimum increment for an item then your bid will be used for proxy bidding. This is how it works:
1. You enter the absolute maximum that you are willing to bid for an item.
2. jumblebee places a bid on your behalf, using the minimum amount required to make you the highest bidder, i.e. current bid price plus bid increment OR the reserve price, if there is one and it can be covered by your proxy bid.
3. jumblebee continues to bid on your behalf, whenever you are outbid by another
member's bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded or the auction is won.
4. jumblebee will notify you by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another member and provided the auction is still running, you will then have a chance to enter a new
maximum bid if you wish.
For example:
The current bid on an auction item is £100. The minimum increment is £10. You enter a bid of £150 (your maximum bid).
Using your bid, but increasing only by the minimum increment, jumblebee sets the current bid to £110.
Another person bids £130 but they are immediately outbid by jumblebee bidding on your behalf and the current bid goes up to £140.
The auction finishes and you have won the auction item at a price of £140.
