To celebrate the release of this interesting and complex tale, The Brighton Paradox ❤️ Big-Hearted Community Auction will be live, right here, between 1st February and 1st May 2023.

The items in this auction are:

  • All of, from, for or about Brighton & Hove

  • Experiences, one-offs, rarities and money-can’t-usually buy offers

  • Being added every week - so check back for new ones

  • Open to all and any bidders

All money raised (minus a small admin fee for the hosting platform) will be equally split between these two pioneering organisations:

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity support sick and disabled children across Sussex. They support babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.

They deliver and fund projects that enable doctors and nurses to do more. All of their projects are led by the needs of children and young people and their families – the lifesaving medical equipment, the support for parents and families, the toys for children spending time in hospitals across Sussex, the environments and spaces that help children feel more at home when they are in hospital and additional staff to make sure children get the best possible care when they are unwell.

The Brighton and Hove Food Partnership was started by local residents in 2003, and their committed team of staff & volunteers deliver a range of food projects which have helped over 15,000 local people learn to cook, grow their own food, eat a healthier diet and waste less.

Eating is central to life’s celebrations and memories, and their approach is to use this power of food to bring about change. Much of their work benefits vulnerable adults and people experiencing deprivation, isolation, poor health and other life challenges. The partnerships’ activities make lasting changes to habits and behaviours which improve lives.

We would like to thank all of the contributors of this auction who have generously donated some truly incredible prizes. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more auction prizes added each week.
