This fantastic auction raises funds for local bury St Edmunds and Suffolk charities. Over the past year we have supported the following with financial donations or practical help:

The Auction runs from Monday 4th March and finishes on Sunday 24th March at 10pm.
We will arrange free delivery of Lots within the Bury St Edmunds area, and for a minimal charge further afield. There are over 130 Lots, so there's something for everyone and every budget - take a flyer and make a bid, and we'll let you know if you've been outbid so you can try again.
Every penny will go either to the charity listed under the Lot or to the local charities we support.

A large pair of 19th century antique Chinese Canton Porcelain Vases on stands.
Canton porcelain is a term given to Chinese ceramics produced for export to Europe from the 18th to 20th centuries. It was made at Jingdezhen where it was glazed and fired. It was then decorated in enamels at Canton ( Guangzhou) in Southern China. Vases were typically decorated with alternating panels of courtiers, figures, birds and flowers, and this pair, standing about 60cm high, is a fine example. They were purchased in a Long Melford Antique Gallery in 1999 for £2200, and the successful bidder may inspect these beautiful pieces without obligation.

The base is made from Ash, and the horse itself is made from Tulip wood, hand painted in water based paints, and the mane is synthetic in case of horse hair allergies. It Measures 1060mm from head to floor, 820mm from saddle to floor and is 1400mm long.
This beautiful hand crafted Rocking Horse has been personally and privately made by a local joiner specifically to raise funds for My WiSH Charity, our local NHS Charity working to enhance the wonderful care you, your family and loved ones receive at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. Local delivery can be arranged. All proceeds from this Lot will be donated to My WiSH Charity.

Wendie Summers is a fully qualified teacher and tutor having worked at the prestigious Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge. Fully DBS checked, Wendie will provide 4 hours of private tuition either face to face or by Zoom. This could be preparation for external exams or mocks, or catching up with work missed, or just helping with the more difficult concepts.
The hours must be taken by the end of June 2025 and can be scheduled to suit the student.
The price paid includes all preparation time and marking of work. Face to face tuition within a 5 mile radius of Bury St Edmunds, or additional travel costs will be charged.

A 750ml bottle of Ferreira 1992 Vintage Port, bottled in 1997.
Ferreira's historic Quinta do Porto estate is located in the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Duoro. On steep hillsides on the north bank of the river with southerly exposure, the port has exceptional concentration, weight and structure. The intense aroma is dominated by very black dark fruit along with chocolate, cocoa and floral aromas. Beautifully presented in a wooden case, this bottle forms part of the special collection of Ferreira Port.

A wooden Owl personally carved by Luke Chapman, Woodcarver / Wood Sculptor, Designer.
Luke carved the Wolf for the Abbey 1000 celebrations and the Panda in Nowton Park. He developed a connection with wood and carving as a child, and after an education in art and design, joined a firm of cabinet makers and began carving for them in 1997. He got his own workshop in 2004 and has never looked back. In 2012 he expanded his space by moving to Matlaske, Norfolk, where he has carried out larger scale sculpture works. This Owl will be 60cm to 85cm high. The proceeds will be donated to the Dog Rescue charity, The Long and Short of it.

It is one of England's most beautiful and romantic ruins, steeped in history and this walk is a rare opportunity to experience its unique story and memories. Enjoy lunch at the cosy Roots Cafe at Blackthorpe Barn on the Rougham estate before the pre-booked walk at 2pm.

Sailing experience for 2 people onboard Moonshadow, a Moody Eclipse 33, 10m long sailing yacht, based at Walton on the Naze, Essex. Arrive on board for morning coffee and croissants and an introduction to the boat. Sail from the Walton Backwaters ( of Arthur Ransome fame ), up the river Orwell / Stour or out round the coast, depending on sea state and weather. The sail will last 4-5 hours. Lunch will be provided, and return to Walton for afternoon tea.
Skipper is a qualified Yacht Master of 40 years experience. No experience is necessary and you will have the opportunity to learn to sail the boat and take the helm or just sit and enjoy the trip.
